What is the FWA Template and how do I use it?
Location: FWA Template
The FWA Template is designed for launching fixed wireless access plans. This template allows you to configure data amounts with an overage rate or set up unlimited plans with fair usage policies.
How do I specify general plan details?
General Section
Location: Plan Design
-> General Section
-
Plan Name and Version: Specify the name of your new plan. If it's a new version of an existing plan, assign a distinct name to the version.
-
Plan Priority: Plans are prioritized for execution based on their priority value. Lower numbers indicate higher priority (e.g., a Plan with Priority 5 executes before a Plan with Priority 12).
-
Pricing: Flexibly set a Purchase Fee (charged upon plan provisioning) and/or a First Usage Fee (charged upon first use of plan allowances).
-
Plan Configuration: Decide whether the plan is one-off or recurring. For recurring plans, enable Auto Renewal and set different fees for purchase and renewal.
Prepaid and Postpaid Plan Options
-
Prepaid Plans: Define the duration (days, weeks, months) and set a Renewal Grace Period to specify how long the charging engine will retry the renewal process in case of insufficient funds.
-
Postpaid Plans: Duration is typically set to 1 month, with options for Subscription and Cancellation Pro-rating based on the time the subscriber spends in the plan within the billing cycle.
How do I configure FWA allowances?
FWA Allowance
Location: Plan Design
-> FWA Template
-
Allowance Types: Define as a specific amount of MB/GBs or unlimited.
-
Rollover: Unused specific amounts can optionally be rolled over into the next period and are combined with new allowances.
Speed Limits and Fair Usage
-
Speed Limits: If not specified, the default network speed is applied. You can set specific speed limits or define conditions for throttling under the Policy tab.
-
Fair Usage: For unlimited plans, set the data usage threshold for throttling and the reduced speed post-threshold, utilizing the counter information from the Policy tab.
What about FWA overage?
FWA Overage
Location: Settings
-
Necessity: Essential for continuing FWA service after the allowance is consumed.
-
Configuration: Select an overage rate from predefined options or enter a custom rate directly into the input box.
By following this guide, you can effectively configure and manage FWA plans using the FWA Template in the charging system, ensuring robust service provision for fixed wireless access users.
